Supercar company's simulator immerses you in a racing experience (video)
Britain's Ariel Motor Company already stunned the performance car world with their embarrassingly quick Atom supercar, and now they have bottled that experience so you can bring it into your living room, with what could be the most awesome car racing simulator yet.
The TL1 simulator was developed by Motion Simulation Ltd working with Ariel, and provides a truly immersive experience not achieved with other systems. A 180 degree semi-spherical video projection system delivers high-definition images that cover the driver's entire field of view, with up to seven megapixels of resolution.
While it can create a realistic impression of the Ariel Atom driving experience, the TL1 is versatile enough to also work as flight simulator, or even for a wrap-around feeling with first shooter games. The seat can be adjusted to a variety of angles, including the extreme feet up position used in Formula 1 cars.
The TL1 is built to order, with prices starting at around $19,000.
